Being Beyoncé’s little sister, getting in the limelight has not been a problem at all for Solange Knowles. However, being the sister of a star as bright as Beyoncé, it is of course inevitable to be always on her shadows.

And so I guess that is why Solange is now taking the step to get out from the brand as “Beyoncé’s little sister.” From her music to her acting style, and lately on her fashion statements, Solange is now trying to (slowly) establish a name of her own.

Visiting The Late Show with David Letterman, the 22-year old singer and actress deviates from her sister’s fashion image by taking in a funkier approach. Pairing a feathered vest and Armani Jeans denim with a printed T-shirt and booties, Solange sure made a statement with this look.

While I’m not quite sure if I like that feathered vest, the overall look seems okay with me. I guess it really takes a lot to pull off this look, like having the guts to play online casinos. But just like the latter, when you’ve learned the ins and outs of the game already, it will be no-sweat to make a fashion hit.

While Paris Hilton made her summer expression through a floral-printed tube top dress, High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens expressed hers via vibrant colors of blue, red, and pink.

Modeling the summer dress in a photo shoot last Thursday at a private home in the Hollywood Hills, the 19-year old actress gets flirty and cozy posing ‘with nature.’

I guess this photo here of Vanessa just proves how kids these days grow up so fast.

But while Van looked serene and happy here, in reality, Zac Efron’s girl is currently facing a $27 million law suit as she has recently just been sued “by a producer who claims she reneged on a deal to share her earnings with him after he helped make her a star.”

Attending the Madrid premiere of Hellboy II: The Golden Army, the 36-year old actress was a mix of class and charm with her black chiffon Fendi dress and bubblegum-pink Louboutins. Adding more twist on the look, Selma then adds on diamond bangles from Amrapali. This is one look I’d never get tired looking at. I especially love the pair of shoes that’s a mix of sweetness and glam!

Aside from Selma Blair, Hellboy II: The Golden Army stars Ron Perlman, Doug Jones, Luke Goss, and Anna Walton. The movie was released in the United States and Canada last July 11, 2008.

Jut after Paris Hilton made a bang in Malibu launching her latest business venture, a hair extension called “Bandit,” Paris strolls over the place looking fresh and girly in a floral printed summer tube dress.

Of course Paris wouldn’t be Paris without her signature color, pink that just gave the look its charming and really adorable feel. With her hair (obviously just an extension) down, the 27-year old heiress and socialite would probably send creeps to her haters with this saccharin look.

Way back in high school, I’ve always found myself defending Christina Aguilera from the criticisms of my classmates who were mostly Britney Spears fanatics.

Yes, I used to be a Christina fan. But just like most fans, I also have outgrown that part of my life.

Seeing Christina now, I sometimes think of the things that I liked about her. Not that she’d been a bad influence but you know, Christina’s just so different now.

Attending the Trump International Hotel & Tower Dubai event yesterday at California, the 27-year old singer and songwriter just looked like she turned from genie in a bottle to Ursula in a hotel; as fadedyouthblog.com puts it, “her trademark clown makeup seemingly permanently spackled on.”

Well I don’t have much problem with her frock. What I have trouble liking with is her make-up that made her look like a drag queen…errr… villain. And the hair? What’s that? Goldilocks?

It actually had been a while since I last featured a look that’s just oh-so wrong. Well there was that over exposed cleavage of Lauren Conrad at the fourth season premiere of The Hills, but at least I could still find some reasons to like it; like class and glamour.

However, for Aubrey O’day’s case, I don’t think I’d ever see something to like in her look.

Attending, the premiere of “Traitor” in New York City last Thursday, the actress was clad in a look that I just could not describe.

Yes, I’m having some loss of words here. And that is not because I’m dumbfounded for its beauty and elegance. I am speechless with the hideousness of this look! What’s with this drag queen ala chicken stuff look?!

Come on, can something go worse than this?

Anyway, browsing over the net, I found out that it’s not just me who’s appalled with this look. E!Online’s Fashion Police says, “Aubrey O’Day is the fashion equivalent of a turducken, which, for the uninitiated, is a chicken, stuffed into a duck, which is then stuffed into a turkey. In the case of the Elizabeth & James vest-wearing O’Day, she looks more like a slutpigeonsnake. Either way, we think we just became vegetarians.”

And of course comments from readers have been unanimous ayes on the monstrosity of the look.

Well obviously, wherever angle you look at it, Demi Moore and her daughter Rumer Willis just look like they’re sisters!

Attending the premiere of “The House Bunny” to cheer on her daughter’s acting debut, Demi Moore, who was clad in a grosgrain Lanvin dress and Giuseppe Zanotti pumps definitely looked stunning! She sure showed off what the word “hot momma” means!

Here’s a post dedicated to those celebrities.

Starting from the youngest in the group, Ashley Tisdale definitely looked hot and lovely with her oh-so sexy yellow dress. Other times I would have thought of this look as another-young-star-trying-to-look-mature, but I guess there’s just something with Ashley’s aura that tells me otherwise.

I just love this look.

Next on the list is Eva Longoria-Parker who dazzled at the event with her Armando Piquer teal cocktail dress paired with Nancy Gonzalez clutch and Sergio Rossi pumps.

E!Online’s Fashion Police says, “We normally don’t go for large jeweled details, but Eva Longoria Parker simply sparkles in this teal cocktail dress. Wisely avoiding too much other bling, Mrs. Parker lets these skipping-stone-smooth embellishments draw the eye to her cleavage…in a classy way. This dress is a real gem!” – I totally agree!

But while I’m all thumbs up with Ashley and Eva’s look, I think I’d give a fashion miss rating for Paula Abdul who donned on an evening gown with a flamenco thing that just look so heavy in the eye.

I saw some comments from E!Online about this look and here are some of those:

Well at least not everybody disliked this look. Right, Paula?!

Aside from Jessica Alba, another star that graced the ALMA Awards was America Ferrera.

The 24-year old actress who also bagged the award as Chevy Entertainer of the Year for her on-screen work as Betty Suarez in Ugly Betty and her off-screen efforts to encourage young people to get involved in the political process, was clad in Diane von Furstenberg tube dress and white stilettos.

Do we or do we not like the look?

Why I like it:

With its big strips of black and white, it’s really hard for one not to notice the dress. – It’s bold, it’s daring, and definitely an eye-catcher!

Plus of course both shades gave America that sophistication with a hint of sexiness.

Why I don’t like it:

I guess the reason why I like the dress would also be the reason why I don’t like it. – It’s horizontal stripes. Obviously, those bold stripes just made America’s frame look even wider and bigger. Not so flattering.

Now that’s my opinion. Let’s see what major fashion sites think of this look.

Well I have always been vocal about how I love Jessica Alba’s sense of style and fashion; and when she took a time away from the limelight to focus on her new roles as wife to Cash Warren and mother to their newborn baby, Honor, I wondered if she’ll still have the same ‘fashion impact’ as she had prior to her pregnancy.

Last Sunday (August 18), Jessica Alba finally made her first red carpet appearance through the ALMA Awards after she gave birth. Were we impressed or disappointed with the ‘new’ Jess?

Impressed:

With just the right curves on her body, who would’ve thought the Fantastic 4 star just gave birth to a bouncing baby girl a couple of moths ago? I may not be a man, but I think Jess still has that oh-lala sex appeal in her.

And yes, I love the gown’s color, too. – It’s charming, it’s elegant, and really feminine.

Disappointed:

Although I love the gown’s feminine shade and cut, I, however think that the look somehow is just too bride’smaid-ish. I don’t know, but the first time I saw this look, the first thing that came to my mind is a ‘wedding’.

And considering Jessica’s previous Hollywood hottie image, I think this is just too cute for her.

I just don’t get this look; something is telling me that it’s just okay but then some gut feeling is telling me something IS really missing. Glamour? Stellar impact? I guess I’d just have to blame that to the gown’s uber-simplicity. Yes, it’s just too simple you’d hardly notice it from the crowd.

Unfortunately, yes, Celebrity Fashion Watch is somehow just a so-called ‘second-hand’ information fashion blog.

I know some readers really expect me to be an expert in my descriptions on celebrity fashion. But sometimes, no matter how hard I try, there are things that are just beyond my limitations.

But while I have readers who expect a lot from me, I guess I should be thankful for those who offer their help in making this blog a better one. These are my readers who share their knowledge pertaining to celebrity fashion and allow me to write about it.

Take for example this dazzling necklace that Michelle Yeoh wore on the Tokyo press conference of her latest flick, Mummy 3 last August 5.

Normally, I would’ve described that as a “cute and stylish” jewel that went well with her outfit. However, thanks to a reader, I was informed that the dagger necklace was in 18k gold and diamonds by Pantera. Worth a whooping $1,950, the necklace was said to be “a traditional symbol of power especially in ancient Egypt and China”. Guess that’s just appropriate for the film Michelle is promoting.

On the press conference, Michelle, whose birthday came the day after, was presented with a birthday cake that’s decorated with an image of the “Eye of Shangri-La”.

With Tom’s popularity and Katie’s charm, it’s actually not a wonder that the media (not to mention the people) just love them.

Recently, you’ve seen Tom and Katie attend the Los Angeles premiere of the “Tropic Thunder,” which I personally believe not the couple’s best in the fashion department. Now let’s see if the following photos will showcase the couple’s ‘unity’ and ‘coherence’ in the context of style.

Attending the 2008 MTV Movie Awards on June 1, 2008 in California, we see the couple looking fresh and casual. With Katie sporting on her signatured bob cut hair (she and used-to-be pal, Victoria both had their versions of the bob), ‘guess it didn’t really matter if she was on a pair of jeans or a glamorous gown.

Unity wise, I believe the couple complimented each other here with their looks.

On May 5, 2008, TomKat attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy.” Tom was definitely dashing and gorgeous in his suit. However, I am not quite sure if I can give the same compliment to Katie who was clad in a strapless vintage Giorgio Armani red sequined beaded gown and blue shoes (!). I guess Katie has taken the word ‘fantasy’ too seriously that she already looked like a walking Crayola.

Redeeming herself from the previous event, Mrs. Cruise was a sight to behold attending the “A Night to Benefit Raising Malawi and UNICEF” hosted by Madonna and Gucci at the United Nations on February 6, 2007 in New York City. Standing by her side is of course her equally gorgeous husband (a little fix on the tie will also help make that look better, too).

Last event will be the Bambi Awards in Düsseldorf on November 29, 2007. Donning an Alexander McQueen dress, my first impression with this look of Katie is somewhat not good. But looking at it again, I guess I’d have a change of mind. With Tom on her side, fantastic!

Well I am a hopeless romantic and a fashionista at heart, and so I thought of coming out a category that will feature some of Hollywood’s biggest couples as compliment (or break) each other in the fashion department.

As a kick off for this category, I thought of bringing in a couple that has been a favorite of reporters and fashion blogs altogether. And no, it’s not Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, not even David and Victoria Beckham, but they’re actually related to the latter.

I am talking about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes…

Yup, after they got married in Italy in November 2006, this power couple has since then been seen together in parties, red carpets, and even the public standing out with their high edge fashion styles.
Often compared with their close pal couple Beck and Posh, Tom and Katie have somewhat shown that they can bring out the best (and sometimes worst) in each other (at least in the fashion department).

Here are some events (arranged from the most recent) showing the couple in both in best and worst fashion moments.

And most recent it is. Yesterday, the parents of cutie Suri attended the Los Angeles premiere of “Tropic Thunder.”

Now for her hubby, Tom, I just think the look is just way too casual you’d think he’s just about to go shopping or visit some friend.

Hello guys! First I’d like to apologize for taking some time to be in hiatus in the previous days. I’ve been really busy with other stuffs that I wasn’t able to squeeze in updating both this site and Paris Hilton Watch.

Anyway, I am back, and I know I owe you a lot of updates in the world of celebrity fashion.

And for this ‘mini come-back’ post, I bring you Hayden Panettiere in her oh-lala look at the Whaleman Foundation Benefit to save the whales at Eva Longoria’s Hollywood restaurant Beso yesterday.

Clad in a strapless Herve Leger banded dress with a sweetheart neck line and black, white and orange curvy bands on the fitted bodice, the Heroes hottie definitely looked stunning and stylish. Adding a little spice in the look, Hayden then dons a graduated diamond six-stone drop earrings, nude pumps and a silver clutch.

Like the look?- Of course! But I guess this isn’t the kind of look that would really make me go gaga. I don’t know, the look isn’t boring at all; it was stylish, it was fashionable, but is it super stunning? That I cannot decide on.

Well I’m not really a huge fan of Hayden, but I think the girl’s really got the sex appeal that’s ready to charm anybody. I guess that’s why her beau, Milo Ventimiglia (who was also in the event) was captivated.

Meanwhile, as Hayden beamed in the event, it was reported that her father, Alan Panettiere got arrested yesterday for having struck his wife, Lesley Panettiere, in the face. With $50,000 bail, he is currently being held on jail.

Was she successful? Or just a useless try?

On the left we see Rumer attending Power of Paws launch party last July wherein she wears a black dress with seemingly very loose straps that it actually made her ‘precious’ boobies sag. I know for sure E!online is one of those who’ve voiced out how displeased they were with the look. So I guess this made Rumer ponder and promise to make-up for the look.

But did she, really?!

Arriving at the Columbia Pictures screening of “Pineapple Express” presented by Three Olives in New York last Tuesday, the 19-year old (turning 20 this August 16) actress tries the black halter dress thing again with of course a notable improvement.

So the straps are now tied up well with the boobies now hidden beautifully, well this then make the look a hit? Well I don’t think so. While the statement may look already fine from waist up, Rumer’s skirt now is too short to cover her ‘other’ lady parts. Yes, it’s too short that you’d be scared to watch her sitting down or even move a bit. And with the kind of built Rumer has, don’t you think she just look so awkward with this kind of dress?

Well anyway, Rumer is still young; she definitely still has a lot of time looking for the perfect style for her.
